Blue Belt Technologies, an orthopedic surgical technology company, today announced the addition Professor David Barrett, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in knee surgery at Southampton University Hospital, to the company’s Scientific Advisory Board. Professor Barrett will provide clinical insight and guidance for the company’s efforts in developing and commercializing various applications for treating large joint conditions.

Professor Barrett is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Southampton University Hospital and Professor of Orthopaedic Engineering at the School of Engineering Sciences. Professor Barrett developed an interest in knee surgery following a fellowship at Harvard Medical School and has since focused on research to improve techniques for surgery as well as knee joint design and function.
