Billings Clinic Chooses Craneware Revenue Integrity Solutions™

Software embeds best-practice charge processes for optimal financial performance

ATLANTA, Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Craneware, Inc. (AIM: CRW.L; OTC: CRWRY), the leader in automated revenue integrity solutions for the U.S. healthcare market, today announced that Billings Clinic, the largest healthcare organization in Montana, has signed a multi-year agreement with Craneware.

Billings Clinic is a not-for-profit community healthcare organization, including a 272-bed hospital and the region's largest multi-specialty group practice. The organization will use five of Craneware's proven solutions to standardize charge management processes for patient care services and medications.

"Craneware brings best-practice modeling to our revenue integrity processes for greater efficiency and sustainability," said Connie Prewitt, CFO of Billings Clinic. "With Craneware, we are confident in having the tools to improve processes and drive financial performance across our facilities."

Under the agreement, Billings Clinic will use Craneware's:

  • Chargemaster Toolkit® and Online Reference Toolkit®, which automates the chargemaster maintenance process, supports compliance by providing access to reference and regulatory resources, and improves reimbursement by linking chargemaster changes to the patient billing system via Craneware's Interface Scripting Module.
  • Physician Revenue Toolkit®, which simplifies the complex management that occurs in an integrated clinic billing environment, including charges, codes, fee schedules and related information.
  • Pharmacy ChargeLink®, which connects the typically siloed pharmaceutical purchase and chargemaster information for improved charge capture, pricing and cost management.

Craneware solutions advance collaboration and accountability between clinical and financial departments. The software identifies exceptions to industry best practices and automates workflow for clinical and financial staff that has responsibility for ensuring accurate pricing, charging and coding. This workflow documents all chargemaster change requests and approvals made.  The improved workflow results in greater accuracy and efficiency to reduce denials and rework.

To implement best-practice processes for quickly realizing optimal return from using the software, Billings Clinic will use three Craneware Professional Services: Chargemaster Maintenance Process Assessment, Design and Implementation Services, Chargemaster Quality Review and Education and Pharmacy ChargeLink® Implementation.

"Craneware helps healthcare leaders embed best-practices and tools central to ongoing financial success in today's evolving industry," said Keith Neilson, CEO of Craneware.
