Autopsy confirms Schiavo brain-damage 'severe'

An autopsy conducted by the office of the Florida state medical examiner has found evidence of "irreversible" brain damage in Terri Schiavo, the woman who became the center of a national controversy earlier this year. Pathologist John Thogmartin said his examination showed conclusively that "no amount of rehabilitation could possibly have reversed her condition." The postmortem examination also found no evidence to support persistent theories that Schiavo was the victim of foul play.
