CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlas Medical Software today introduced Atlas Mobile for use with the Apple iPad, enabling physicians to place orders and access patient results virtually anytime and anywhere.
Designed as an add-on module to Atlas LabWorks, the best-of-breed order entry and result reporting solution, Atlas Mobile offers a powerful new way to expand healthcare diagnostic service offerings to physician customers.
Built on the Company's proven multi-staged order workflow engine, Atlas Mobile provides Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) functionality on the iPad that enables physicians to create electronic orders, indicate special instructions and perform medical necessity verification during the patient's office visit. Once an order has been submitted by a physician, it can then be accessed by practice office staff, or patient service center and customer service personnel to further process the order, based on pre-defined business rules, all of which is integral to Atlas clean order management.
In addition to placing new orders, Atlas Mobile offers physicians secure access to complete patient reports with interpretive notes and abnormal flags, including support for integrated clinical lab, anatomic pathology and radiology results. And, since Atlas Mobile has been developed as a native iPad application, no patient information is stored on the device, further ensuring the safety and confidentiality of protected health information in the event a device is misplaced or stolen.
Today's diagnostic testing providers must offer new and innovative services to their physician customers to address industry demands such as those surrounding "meaningful use". Rob Atlas, CEO and President of Atlas Medical states, "Atlas Mobile CPOE is a breakthrough solution that enhances the clinician's workflow and can deliver clean lab and radiology orders to a nationwide network of over 125 diagnostic testing organizations today." He continues, "With Atlas Mobile, our customers gain a competitive edge and provide a higher level of service by delivering patient data literally at the doctor's fingertips."
The Atlas Mobile module is available for download from the iTunes App Store. The application requires an active Atlas LabWorks user account. Physicians and other caregivers who wish to use the Atlas Mobile application should contact their diagnostic testing services provider for further details. Atlas Medical also offers Atlas Mobile for use on the Apple iPhone® and iPod touch, providing the physician anytime, anywhere access to patient results.
Atlas Mobile is part of the Atlas OuterWare suite of connected care solutions that includes Atlas LabWorks, a scalable, cost-effective order entry and results reporting solution for outreach environments. Labs that are part of the ION network can experience "instant on" deployment of the Atlas Mobile for the iPad module.
