Aetna Reaches New Contract Agreement with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport

Aetna (NYSE: ) announced today that it has reached agreement on a new contract with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, adding the facility and its physician group to Aetna’s Mississippi network.

Under the agreement, members of Aetna’s commercial plans will be able to receive covered services, at in-network rates, from the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and at the hospital’s Physicians Clinic at MHG.

“Aetna is extremely pleased to welcome Memorial Hospital to our network of contracted facilities and doctors,” said Greggory Parrish, Aetna’s local market lead for network operations in Mississippi. “As we look to expand our presence in the state, we’re working to provide our members with more in-network health care options.

Aetna provides health benefits to more than 65,000 members in Mississippi. Those members have access to a contracted network of 88 hospitals and more than 4,500 primary care and specialist physicians.

Steiner, the hospital’s vice president of finance. “We are committed to delivering consistently excellent health care, and our patients who are Aetna subscribers will benefit from in-network access to our wide range of services.”

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, a public, not-for-profit health system, includes a 303-bed acute care hospital, a 33-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 109-bed behavioral health facility, satellite outpatient diagnostic and rehabilitation centers and more than 40 Memorial Physician Clinics. Memorial has over 300 physicians on the medical staff. Medical specialties include cardiovascular sciences, comprehensive medical rehabilitation, a child and adolescent behavioral health inpatient program, Neonatal ICU, Memorial Cancer Center, a state-designated Level II Trauma Center and Mississippi’s first nationally certified Primary Stroke Center. Memorial offers three-dimensional imaging, electronic medical records, and advanced surgical techniques, including CyberKnife and the da VinciSi HD™ Robotic Assisted Specialty Surgery System.
