Thirty hospitals in the Greater New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania regions will form an affiliation in response to financial changes being brought by the Affordable Care Act, NJ.com reported. The affiliation, known as Allspire Health Partners, is comprised of seven separate hospital systems, including Atlantic Health, Hackensack University Health Network and Lehigh Health. Each of the systems contributed $1 million apiece to fund the initiative, whose activities will include attracting more patients and research grants. Alliance founders said the venture is the largest alliance of health systems in the country. Article
