The Network for Regional Healthcare launches new nationwide price transparency effort

The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement has launched a new initiative intended to vastly expand price transparency in the industry by 2020. The time is right to launch the Center for Healthcare Transparency (CHT) because of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' release of large data and a shift toward value-based payment models. However, the CHT faces some difficult challenges ahead, particularly regarding who will govern the vast amounts of data that would be the inevitable result of a nationwide cost and quality transparency effort.
