Hospital prices lower for patients paying cash

Hospitals in the Los Angeles area are offering procedures to cash-pay patients at prices far lower than those with private insurance, according to FierceHealthcare. In some instances, the price disparity can be more than 15 times between cash pay and insurance. At Los Alamitos Medical Center, a CT scan costs $250 for a cash patient asking for a discount, versus up to $4,423 at full price.
