The California Fair Political Practices Commission--one of the state's leading watchdog agencies--is investigating whether trustees at two healthcare districts engaged in financial conflicts of interest, The Bay Citizen reported.
At least three trustees at the Sequoia Healthcare District and the San Gorgonio Memorial Healthcare District are under investigation. They allegedly tried to influence votes to steer contracts toward businesses that would personally benefit themselves or relatives, or held stock in banks with ties to the districts. Article
