CMS says overpayments far surpass underpayments

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced nearly $685 million worth of payment corrections for fiscal year 2010 and the first three quarters of fiscal year 2011. According to CMS, the corrections include $575.2 million in overpayments and $109.6 million in returned underpayments, or more than a five-to-one ratio in favor of overpayments.
