Two Texas health information exchanges (HIEs) have agreed to combine forces, according to an article in Healthcare Informatics.
Health Care Access San Antonio in South Central Texas and North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership in Dallas will merge, creating a network that will cover 35 counties centered around those two cities.
The San Antonio HIE is larger, covering 1.5 million patients through 90 percent of the area's hospitals and physicians. The Dallas HIE currently includes Children's Hospital of Dallas, the four hospitals at Methodist Health, and the physicians of USMD and Methodist Family Health Center. Article
