As the health IT universe waits for Washington to finalize the "meaningful use" rules, more than a few healthcare providers have to be wondering how they actually will apply for the Medicare and Medicaid bonus payments that come with meeting the standards. As of now, we just don't know--and we may not know until early next year. Be advised, though, that EMR certification also is changing, so any product that is CCHIT-certified now may not be good enough to meet federal certification standards.
