Officials with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT outlined the agency's agenda for the upcoming year at the most recent meeting of its Health IT Policy Committee, held Jan. 8. ONC's focus will be on improving and optimizing the health IT tools already in place, meaningful data sharing and operability, and consumerism in healthcare. ONC also made a reference to what Stage 4 of the Meaningful Use Incentive program will focus on, stating that Stage 4 would be "moving toward the learning health system" to make better use of data, Healthcare Informatics reports.
