The Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services has extended the deadline to submit electronic clinical quality measurement (eCQM) data for eligible hospitals participating in the Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) or Medicare Meaningful Use program. They now have until Dec. 31, to submit eCQM data using the QualityNet Secure Portal.
The extension only applies to the eCQM voluntary submission option for the IQR program and electronic-reporting option of CQM data for the Meaningful Use program. The change does not affect the attestation deadline, which is Feb. 29, 2016.
CMS also notes that there have been some issues with the portal; it states that it is monitoring the situation "closely" and offers assistance to providers in need. Website
