Dr. Nicole Brainard is a trained behavioral scientist whose career centers around the application of behavior change techniques to foster adoption of desired health behaviors, leading to improvements in overall health and wellbeing. With nearly ten years spent in public health and behavioral science, Dr. Brainard has had the opportunity to collaborate with large health care payers, cancer centers, community-based organizations, and academia. During that time her work largely focused on improved access to care, cancer survivorship, and healthcare payment and delivery reform.
In her current role, Dr. Brainard manages the development and implementation of digital behavior change interventions for internal and external partners. Some of her projects include advancing the 7 Minute Workout®, creation of My Care Activator on cancer.com, and additional work in patient and provider wellbeing, and medication adherence. Dr. Brainard also contributes her expertise in intervention mapping – a protocol for developing, implementing, and sustaining evidence-based health promotion programs. Dr. Brainard’s previous position was with America’s Health Insurance Plans where she was a Director of Research concentrating on the implementation of alternative payment models, and digital price transparency tools for consumers.
Dr. Brainard completed her doctoral degree at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She holds a master’s in public health from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Florida.
