John Zabrowski is a member of FierceHealthcare's Editorial Advisory Council. He is the senior vice president & chief financial officer (CFO) at Virginia Hospital Center.
In this role, he ensures the VHC runs in the most cost-effective manner. His operational responsibilities include financial reporting, accounting and disbursements, decision support, internal audits, third-party reimbursement, investment management, accounts receivable, managed care, capital funding, and financial management and planning.
Mr. Zabrowski is a seasoned financial strategist with over a decade of experience in healthcare. Most recently, he was the Regional CFO for St. Vincent Indiana’s Southwest Region, a 508-bed, dual-campus, integrated healthcare and trauma care institution in Evansville, IN. His background also includes System Controller & Director of Finance at Deaconess Health System, and Vice President of Corporate Accounting at Old National Bancorp, both in Evansville. In addition, he has served as advisor to a telehealth technology company.
Mr. Zabrowski earned an MBA with distinction from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in Chicago, and a BS in accounting and finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, IN. He has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Southwestern Indiana, the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana and the Indiana Healthcare Financial Management Association.
