Consumers see EMRs as factor in choosing MDs

Does it matter whether you roll out an EMR system now or later? Apparently, it does to some consumers. According to a new study by Accenture, the majority of consumers give at least some weight to whether a physician uses an EMR when choosing a practice--and what's more, most are willing to pay more to such practices. Kaiser faces $7B loss

Things are looking rough for Kaiser Permanente, which could lose a staggering $7 billion over the next two years if it doesn't make some changes. Kaiser's operating costs are going up 10 percent per year, according to internal projections.
