White House: 700K complete exchange applications

Republican lawmakers have been demanding the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services release the number of people who have enrolled in exchange plans. While it hasn't shared enrollment numbers, yesterday the Obama administration said 700,000 people have completed applications to begin shopping for insurance through the new online marketplaces, Kaiser Health News reported. However, the government did not spell out how many of the applicants came through the 14 state-run exchanges or the 36 states where the federal government is running or supporting the exchanges.
