UPMC wins funding for emergency system

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has secured a $8.5 million government appropriation to fund a new disaster disaster response system designed to improve response to natural disasters, epidemics and terrorism. The system will include a web portal that will provide health information in the event of a crisis.
