Union activity likely to increase

Back in September, we warned you that depending on how the election went, hospital management might have to worry about increased union organizing. Now we're here to tell you that with a pro-union president heading to the White House and a democratic majority in the House and the Senate, union efforts are likely to get a big boost.

On the other hand, even in Michigan (generally considered the heart of union activity), union membership has been declining over previous years. That is expected, but not guaranteed to change with the change in administrations. What we can almost certainly expect to see, though, is a lot of changes to existing laws that will make it easier for unions to organize.
