Of course the Physician involved in the patients care has a substantial influence on which hospital the patient selects for inpatient services.
Since hospital staff privileges are usually a prerequisite for the rendering of professional services, it is ordinarily an institution where the attending MD is on staff.
When multiple staff privileges are involved, the patients are more likely to be actively involved in the final selection. - JEH
