Staff turnover ranks as top challenge of healthcare recruiters

One-third of healthcare recruiters in the U.S. rank employee turnover as their greatest staffing concern, according to a new study by Health eCareers. Nearly 30 percent of the 565 respondents said that they will have more job openings in 2015 than last year. But 43 percent report that finding qualified candidates is their No. 1 obstacle. The problem is due to increased demand for healthcare services and a decrease in a supply of providers due to the looming doctor and nurse shortages. Many recruiters report they look to nurse practitioners and physician assistants as alternate candidates for physician positions and rely more on social media to connect and engage with candidates. Study (.pdf)
