Schizophrenia can be passed on by stress
It's already well-understood that schizophrenia, a complex, paralyzing brain disorder characterized by delusions and hallucinations, can be passed on as a genetic inheritance. However, a new study suggests that there may be additional contributing factors. Researchers have now concluded that pregnant women subjected to traumatic stress, such as a natural disaster or sudden bereavement, are more likely to give birth to children who develop the condition.
