According to a new report by the Association of Schools of Public Health, the number of public health workers could fall rapidly in coming years. For one thing, they estimate that 23 percent of the workforce will retire by 2012. To address this gap, the trade group would like to see increased student financial aid funding, loan repayment/forgiveness and stronger recruiting efforts among professionals in the private sector.
