For anyone who works on the health IT side of the profession, it's hard to miss the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a large, powerful trade group that throws the biggest health IT conference of the year each year. What you may not know, however, is that HIMSS also played a big role in seeing to it that the stimulus package included generous funding for IT spending.
