DC hospital takes on universal HIV screening

Washington, D.C.-based Howard University Hospital has taken on an ambitious program. With help from the CDC and city health department, the hospital now offers HIV screenings to everyone who walks through its doors. In the first 16 months of the program, it has screened about 13,000 of the 20,000 people between the ages of 14 and 84 who arrived on its doorstep. About 260 have tested positive to date. Article
