SPOTLIGHT: California hospitals slammed for care problems
California's health officials have issued another series of fines against hospitals that made serious mistakes in care. The hospitals, which were fined $25,000 each, were slapped for placing patients in immediate jeopardy, or actually causing serious injuries or death. Eleven hospitals were hit with the fines for infractions such as setting the face of a patient on fire during eye surgery. Article
