RWJF report examines healthiest, least healthy counties

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released its "County Health Rankings Key Findings Report," which explores national and regional trends on how children in poverty, college attendance, preventable hospital stays, smoking and physical inactivity influence health. The Foundation teamed up with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute to examine how certain measures affect access to healthy food, obesity, high school graduation rates and more. One of the biggest problems was housing, with about 20 percent of families across the country experiencing housing problems, such as overcrowding, insufficient cooking and bathing facilities or costs over 50 percent of the family income.
