Ordinarily a report with a title like "Scenarios and Solutions in the Future of Transcription" would be the sort of thing most people would skip. In this case, that would be a mistake. The report, which was drawn up by a transcription industry group and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), predicts that medical outsourcing to countries like India -- already an issue -- is likely to become an even more dominant trend in healthcare in the near future given the realities facing the industry. What would that mean in the long run? A lot of changes, for sure. The scenario is worth looking at.
