Organizations interested in developing a model for effective bundled payments may want to look to UnitedHealthcare, which has successfully implemented a program to reduce cost of care and improve quality, according to a FierceHealthPayer special report. Lee Newcomer, UnitedHealth's senior vice president of oncology, said in the exclusive interview that one of its programs lowered medical costs for breast, cancer and lung cancer treatment by 34 percent.
