Patient drops suit against Tufts Medical Center over privacy breach

In a turn of events, the woman who sued Tufts Medical Center and a physician over what she said was violated privacy by faxing medical records without her consent, dropped the lawsuit. Tufts did not admit wrongdoing and did not offer to settle, reported The Boston Globe Friday. Patient Kimberly White this summer accused Tufts and Dr. Kimberly Schelling of faxing four pages of her medical records about her hysterectomy to her workplace without permission, causing her embarrassment. White's attorney, Adam Bond, did not reveal why White dropped the lawsuit. The case is dismissed with prejudice, that is, the suit cannot be brought to court again, according to The Boston Globe.
