The Washington Post looks at measures being taken by public health agencies around the world to guard against a possible avian flu pandemic. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt is scheduled to review updated US response plans this week. Despite some signs of progress, the Post notes that much work remains to be done, and the worst case scenarios remain disturbing.
