Nurse who contracted Ebola claims documents were withheld

Documents that Texas Health Resources withheld from Nina Pham, the nurse suing the company after she contracted Ebola while treating a patient last year, could hurt its defense, according to state District Judge Martin Hoffman. If the company or its insurers improperly failed to turn over the documents, Hoffman said he could impose sanctions, according to the Dallas Morning News. Hoffman also extended a restraining order barring the defendants from pursuing a workers' compensation claim, which Pham's attorneys argue is an attempt to quash her suit by having Texas Health Resources declared a co-employer. Brent Walker, one of Pham's attorneys, said the company's insurance adjuster's files were missing several key documents the plaintiff requested. Article
