For the second consecutive year, more U.S. medical school students will train as family medicine residents in 2011, according to data released yesterday by the National Resident Matching Program. The number of seniors who will spend the next three to seven years of residency training in family medicine positions jumped by 11 percent over 2010, marking the strongest growth rate among primary care specialties.
