Like the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic is a provider that has a history of developing new medical technologies and bringing them to market. But now, instead of licensing new innovations to outside companies, the hospital is using outsourcing strategies in a bid to retain greater control in some cases.
