Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, Fla., has sued BP and Halliburton over lost revenue related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April 2010, the News-Press reported. The health system said its attorneys submitted a claim to BP's claims facility, with 90 days given to resolve the matter before a lawsuit was filed, but recieved no response. "BP has made no indication it intends to make an offer to resolve our claim," Lee Memorial spokeswoman Mary Briggs told the News-Press. The lawsuit claims the because spill kept away tourists, Lee Memorial lost inpatient and outpatient charges and fees, as well as Medicare and Medicaid revenues, among other economic damages. Article
