How to deal with Ebola waste

With healthcare leaders around the country looking to improve their practices in regard to treating Ebola patients, the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, located at the Nebraska Medical Center, offers best practices for removing Ebola waste in commentary published in the December issue of the American Journal of Infection Control.  One patient at the facility generated a total of 464.4 cubic feet of solid waste wieghing 1,011 lbs, most of which was the personal protective equipment worn by staff.
