Hospitals encourage charitable tax deductions

As Congress considers reforming the nation's tax laws, the American Hospital Association testified at a Ways and Means hearing on Thursday, urging it to maintain existing federal tax charitable deductions. Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., speaking on behalf of AHA, said preserving such deductions encourages philanthropic giving--a source of capital financing.
