To fix the problems within the healthcare system, industry leaders must look internally to run their organizations more like businesses, Premier President and CEO Susan DeVore told Forbes. Premier went public a year ago and is jointly owned and operated by 180 healthcare systems nationwide. "We actually don't believe it can be fixed from the outside in," DeVore told Forbes. "It has to be fixed with providers and patients and connected information to change the way care is delivered."
