Federal bill would address nursing shortage
Comments
Good for you, Rep. Bingaman! With enough financial aid, doctoral students in nursing can get through their degree program much more quickly (most are now working during the day and trying to study and gather data for dissertations in the evening). Not only will we have more educators for future BSN nurses, we will have the benefit of the extraordinary research findings of these men and women. This is a wonderful investment in the future!
Why do you need a PhD to teach nurses nursing. Shouldn't an RN or Masters prepared RN degree be sufficient? Another waste of tax payers money. The legislation to increase Nursing Teachers should be drafted around making salary/pay competitive with what hospitals pay for Nurse Managers or Clinical Coordinators.
