Consumer confusion about healthcare reform persists

Consumers are still confused about the provisions of the healthcare reform and don't know when changes will kick in, according to a new survey by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Only 14 percent could correctly identify Sept. 23, 2010, among four dates when the first healthcare reform provisions would take effect. Half of respondents incorrectly think that employers with fewer than 50 employees will have to offer coverage to those employees. And nearly half (47 percent) incorrectly believe that all health insurance plans must cover approved preventive care and checkups without co-payment. Press release
