More than half of nurses lack confidence in regard to making financial decisions, in part because they simply lack the time to focus on them, the new Money FIT Nurses Study by Fidelity Investments found. Sixty-two percent of nurses whose employers provide access to retirement guidance fail to take advantage of this resource, though 85 percent of that group also indicated that they would be motivated to do so if their employers made the guidance more accessible, according to a study announcement. Time may be the biggest culprit, as 33 percent of nurses said busy schedules get in the way of seeking financial guidance, according to the study. But the study also found positive signs: 92 percent of nurses surveyed said they wanted to learn more about financial planning, and 84 percent indicated that they proactively save for the future.
