For the seventh consecutive year, (VPH) won the title of “Best Hospital” in an independent online survey conducted by the the leading daily newspaper in the San Fernando Valley region that VPH has served for more than 50 years.

In the annual survey, the “Best Hospital” award recognizes the one medical care facility that outranks all others listed among “Favorite Hospitals” in the newspaper’s “Readers Choice” awards.

“We are grateful for the continuing recognition of Valley Presbyterian Hospital’s outstanding care and its many other contributions to the health of the community,” said Gustavo Valdespino, VPH president and chief executive officer. “We have invested in the latest in technology and facilities, partnered with outstanding physicians and employed the best in nursing and support staff to provide the best possible care for our patients and their families. We are so proud to see all these efforts honored seven years in a row.”

Since VPH opened its doors in 1958, it has focused on improving the health of the community with compassionate care, advanced facilities and equipment and a commitment to constantly enhancing and expanding its services to patients and their families.

As part of that commitment, it opened a new $4.5 million state-of-the-art labor, delivery and recovery unit expansion in June. Home to the busiest maternity ward in the San Fernando Valley region, with more than 4,000 births annually, VPH now offers seven new labor, delivery and recovery suites, each equipped with the latest in technology and designed to provide the comforts of home.

It also renamed its obstetrics services as “Little Treasures/Pequños Tesoros” and added several enhancements that make VPH unique among the San Fernando Valley region’s providers of maternity services. Among those enhancements was the creation of an obstetrics hospitalist program, which provides a board-certified obstetrician in-house 24/7 for immediate response to unanticipated emergencies.

“At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, we are constantly striving to see what more we can do to provide the best healthcare possible for our patients,” said Mr. Valdespino. “With 1,600 employees and more than 500 physicians, we provide the most advanced treatments to improve and save lives.”

Founded in 1958, Valley Presbyterian Hospital, a non-profit and nonsectarian hospital, has remained focused on meeting the medical needs of the community for over 50 years. While VPH has grown to become one of the largest acute care hospitals in the San Fernando Valley, it continues to provide patient-centered care for a healthier community. The 350-bed facility offers leading-edge technology and a full range of medical services. With 500 physicians representing virtually every specialty and most sub-specialties, VPH provides the latest state-of-the-art treatments to improve and save lives. For more information, visit .
