Urgent Care of Connecticut (UCC) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approvalfor accreditation by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety in ambulatory care organizations. The accreditation award recognizes Urgent Care of Connecticut’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards. The Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program was established in 1975 and is nationally acknowledged as the benchmark of quality in the industry.
“The Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare,” explained Dr. R. Robert Rohatch, MD, FACEP, chief executive officer and a founding member of Zucyla Enterprises, the parent company of Urgent Care of Connecticut. “They accredit and certify more than 20,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the U.S. According to the Urgent Care Association of America, of the approximately 8,700 urgent care centers located throughout the country, just 36 independently owned and operated urgent care centers have distinguished themselves through the Joint Commission accreditation process. Five of those are now ours and none of the remaining 31 operates in the New England states. This is a significant achievement for UCC and I could not be more proud of our staff.”
