New Clinic Emphasizes Fast and Convenient, Quality Care for Urban Atlanta Neighborhoods

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- North Atlanta neighborhoods will gain a new urgent care center in Early Spring, 2012 with the anticipated opening of SmartCare Urgent Care located at 4400 Peachtree Road, NE (next to Oglethorpe University). The renovated, stand-alone clinic will emphasize quality urgent and wellness care services targeted to the busy urban market area it serves, according to Dr. Kavita Kotte, the center’s Chief Medical Officer.

“We are eager to begin serving the neighborhoods in North Atlanta. Urgent care is gaining a new pivotal role in the evolving healthcare landscape here in Atlanta. Our urban market, with its wide array of residents, is choosing the convenience, cost effectiveness and quality offered by centers like SmartCare,” says Dr. Kotte.

“We will be the health care alternative for illness, injury and wellness care when a trip to a doctor’s office or the ER is unwarranted or inconvenient. Our unique practice is designed to provide urgent care treatment for both adults and children in addition to wellness services like flu shots and physicals,” notes Dr. Kotte.

SmartCare Urgent Care is designed to provide a convenient local option and a valuable health care resource to area residents, college students, and local businesses and even out of town visitors. “SmartCare will deliver fast, quality care with a wide range of treatment services including on-site laboratory testing and X-rays with same-day reads,” says Dr. Kotte.

SmartCare Urgent Care’s spectrum of services include treatment for most minor injuries of the muscles, skin and bones as well as minor illnesses such as infections, gastrointestinal problems, joint problems, allergic reactions, sexually transmitted diseases and high blood pressure, just to name a few. In addition, the clinic will offer Women’s Health Services and Wellness Services including inexpensive flu vaccinations, B12 shots, physicals, and immunizations.

SmartCare Urgent Care plans to open additional urgent care centers in the Metro Atlanta area in the coming year.

Dr. Kavita Kotte is the Chief Medical Officer for SmartCare Urgent Care and also currently serves as a hospitalist at Athens Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kotte completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mercer University at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Kotte has more than 5 years experience in the management and oversight of clinical trials at Emory University School of Medicine, as well as participating in a post doc fellowship in Cardiology at the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory. Dr. Kotte is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Urgent Care Association of America.
