Dr. Hon S. Pak, former CIO to Army Office of the Surgeon General, will act as senior advisor to mobile healthcare innovator

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AirStrip TechnologiesTM, Inc. announced today that Dr. Hon S. Pak, a healthcare IT leader with more than two decades of industry experience, has joined AirStrip as a senior advisor.

Dr. Pak most recently served as Chief Information Officer in the US Army Medical Department’s Office of the Surgeon General. As a senior advisor, Dr. Pak was responsible for design, deployment, training and sustainment of all clinical information systems. The Military Healthcare System delivers healthcare services to more than 9.2 million patients globally.

One of Dr. Pak’s roles with AirStrip Technologies will be to identify potential uses of AirStrip’s groundbreaking mobile monitoring solutions to support the care and treatment of wounded soldiers.

Dr. Pak is recognized for developing a comprehensive informatics infrastructure and a health IT strategy around patient-centered care with a specific focus on business intelligence. He also shaped an unprecedented federal investment in electronic health record exchanges and health information technology for active military, veteran and civilian populations.

Dr. Pak previously headed the Advanced Information Technology Group within the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center, a federal agency focused on public/private partnerships and developing research on mHealth, medical training systems and health informatics. He is also the past president of the American Telemedicine Association and led the effort on global health and standards development for telehealth.

Dr. Pak currently serves as the Editorial Board for Journal of Telemedicine and e-Health and is a member of the George Washington Health IT Advisory Council.
