Payers & Providers White Paper Examines Pay of More Than 700 Top Executives
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Chief executive officers of non-profit hospitals in the Midwest earn average compensation of nearly $481,000. That’s significantly less than their counterparts in California, according to a new white paper and database available from healthcare publishers Payers & Providers and MCOL. However, many hospital CEOs throughout the Midwest earn millions of dollars in base salary and additional compensation.
Payers & Providers examined the tax returns of more than 700 non-profit hospitals in 10 Midwestern states for its white paper, and the compensation of each CEO in relation to the size of their hospital and its overall finances have been rendered in spreadsheet format. The report was authored by Payers & Providers Midwest Editor Duncan Moore, a veteran of the Kansas City Star, Bloomberg News and Modern Healthcare. The data was compiled by MCOL.
