Grand Forks-based Altru Health System Named First Care Network Member
ROCHESTER, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mayo Clinic officials today announced the Mayo Clinic Care Network, a network of provider organizations benefiting from access to Mayo Clinic expertise. Mayo Clinic Care Network members will have Mayo Clinic expertise at their fingertips, including the ability to connect with Mayo Clinic physicians, to help them care for their patients and improve their system and the health of their communities. Altru Health System, based in Grand Forks, N.D., was announced today as the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Care Network members, such as Altru Health System, share a common philosophy, commitment and mission to improve the delivery of health care. With the Mayo Clinic Care Network, some patients will still need to travel to a tertiary care facility, but by creating scalable ways to connect the patients at member institutions with Mayo Clinic, all will benefit from these collaborative relationships.

In May, Mayo Clinic and Altru first announced their collaboration, which is now formalized as Altru’s membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Altru physicians have taken advantage of the relationship in many ways. With this collaboration, many patients who previously would have traveled to Mayo were able to continue their care close to home.
