Ingersoll Rand Launches Global Practice to Develop Innovative Solutions for Healthcare Providers

New practice group announced during the American College of Healthcare Executives 2011 Congress on Healthcare Leadership

SWORDS, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable and efficient environments, announced the formation of its new Global Healthcare Practice during the American College of Healthcare Executives 2011 Congress on Healthcare Leadership (ACHE).

The Global Healthcare Practice was created in response to growing demand from the healthcare industry for solutions providers who understand the complexity of the changing environment. With the evolution of new healthcare models and increased regulations – as well as the need for more transparency – Ingersoll Rand’s Practice will provide innovative technologies and solutions to help healthcare providers more effectively achieve their business goals.

Laura Rygielski Preston, vice president of the Global Healthcare Practice, announced the Practice during the workshop she moderated at ACHE entitled “Healthcare Reform...are you ready to make the tough decisions?” The workshop represented an opportunity for healthcare leaders to discuss and share how their organizations are planning to strategically handle operational and capital decision-making under Healthcare Reform.

Preston also shared the Healthcare Practice’s ideas on improving the physical environment of hospitals during her address at ACHE with Charlotte Burns, CEO of Hardin Medical Center. The presentation, entitled “Rural Hospital Renovation: Improving Your Place in the Community,” focused on how to overcome infrastructure challenges associated with small, rural Hill-Burton hospitals in order to achieve improved patient and staff satisfaction, productivity outcomes and financial performance.

“Overcoming infrastructure challenges in order to improve productivity and maximize financial performance in rural hospitals is one example of the types of complex issues that the Global Healthcare Practice is specializing in,” said Preston. “As healthcare providers seek innovative solutions, our practice brings expertise and deep insight to help them achieve business objectives.”

Ingersoll Rand’s Global Healthcare Practice comprises industry experts from throughout the company dedicated to creating healthcare environments that are an asset to life. The Practice will partner with industry associations, government organizations and strategic partners to set policies and share best practices to advance the physical environment of healthcare facilities.

“Ingersoll Rand is a global leader in establishing safe, comfortable and efficient healthcare environments with brands such as Trane and Schlage,” said John W. Conover IV, president of the Security Technologies sector of Ingersoll Rand and Chair of the Healthcare Practice Advisory Council. “The Global Healthcare Practice is our commitment to advancing the physical environment of healthcare facilities around the world, while continuing to focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations.”
