NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.® (HMS) announced today it has received certification for HMS EDIS Version 4.2 under Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records ONC-ATCB program. Drummond Group Inc. is an ONC-Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) that provides meaningful use certification for EHR systems and applications. When a complete EHR system or EHR module(s) is certified, the eligible providers and hospitals can use this certified EHR technology to meet qualifying criteria for Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) incentive payments under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. HMS EDIS is powered by MEDHOST, the industry’s leading EDIS solution. HMS and MEDHOST are affiliate companies owned by HealthTech Holdings, Inc., (HHI).

HHI has invested approximately $100 million in product acquisitions and software development to enable HMS to bring a comprehensive suite of feature-rich technology solutions to its customers and prospective customers. HMS, a proven leader in the community hospital HIS market, significantly expanded its product suite in the last 18 months into a truly integrated enterprise wide solution for community hospitals. In addition to HMS EDIS, HMS launched HMS Connexsm, HMS Ambulatory EHR, and will soon launch two new services to support hospitals seeking to become certified meaningful users of HMS software.

We understand the challenges facing community hospitals and remain committed to delivering software that meets their needs.
